Fire Exit step regs

Hi all

My local school has just bought a double decker bus to use as a library. They need some steps making to use as the fire exit, these will be by the rear exit door, the issue i have is the door is 800mm from the floor and i only have 2000mm length down the side of the bus so i need to get from 800mm to ground level in only 2000mm.

Can anyone help me with regulations and issues i need to consider in my design.

800 divided by 5 gives 5 equal risers at 160mm. Say 250mm per 'going' ( x4) would only take up 1000mm. Bags of room.

Or do a landing at the top, then steps coming down parallel with the bus.

my inital idea is to do a landing 1000mm long at 750mm high which would leave me 1000mm to get to ground level.

I was then thinking of 4 steps 250mm wide and 187 drop.
