Fire doors

Hi

I have very heavy old door. I am pretty sure it is a fire door. What is in them steel? Asbestos.?

I going to make a bench that's why I am asking.

Also check the name, if it's made by Durastell, it's almost certainly full of chrysotile asbestos

I refuse to drill them end of (people want internal bars on them occasionally to secure when leaving thier works)

From the picture that looks like a wooden fire door blank (available as a 8x4 Sheet) with some moulding planted on top.

I have made a few boxes and benches from fire doors they usually have a dot on them they is suppose to not be cut off! labels too but they go after time

It's 2.3mtrs by 900mm. Is their anyway to find our. Our just change my plans for it. . It's is just plain and flat on the other side.

just use it for your intended bench

Hi, As WorkshopChris says that is just a blockboard (remember that?) door with trim mouldings on. The volume of wood in it will act as a fire door.

It's just a wooden door. Quite an old one by the looks. Worth a couple of quid.
