Fine metal filings under feed motor?!

Hi,

Did a bit of welding today and opened the side cover on my 160T and noticed some very fine metal filings/dust undet the feed motor

Someone said its just the fine filing from the wire, nothing to worry about, the tension on the wire isnt very hard infact I just backed it off a little

The wire is on the right 0.6mm groove as well

Any ideas?

Its just flakes off the wire. Nothing to worry about.
We normally blow the insides out with compressed air after every 10 or so 15kg rolls have gone through.

I wouldn't worry, Its just where the wire has been shaved where it enters the liner, the same dust that come out when you blow the liner through with an airline,

Both Pauls are right, the dust is where the wire is shaved by the guide tube in front of the rollers, nothing at all to worry about.
