So about 3 months ago my chop saw blade randomly decided it was going to fall off its mount and become lodged in such a way that it way almost impossible to remove it. I couldn't move the guard, the blade wouldn't move up nor down & the way it had jammed itself in there meant that even undoing the screws & other fixings to remove the guard wouldn't allow me to remove it.
Its been sat on my bench doing jack all since then, I bought a bandsaw and finally got round to purchasing some new blades that were the recommended size only to find out that they the guy I bought it off told me wrong flippin size.. I've not had anything to cut mitres into box section for 3 months or so now meaning I've had no projects that I could get into properly.
Yesterday my mate popped round for a cuppa and he remember me talking about this saw and decided he wanted to have a go at it. Now Jon is a STRONG chap, very strong. We walk into the garage and he takes a look at it.. he unbolts one thing with a allen key, uses some brute force to grab the blade out, installs my new blade & trues it up to perfection.. all in about 5 minutes. I stood there thinking why the hell didn't I get him to do this 3 months ago.
I'm now a very happy chappy that I finally have my saw back and can get onto building some stuff. Off to pick up 3M of 1MM wall 316 stainless tube in a little while, that should be a nice way to get back into it.
Any ideas for projects?
