Filling a blind hole (car)

I've just removed the lower trim on my Saab 96V4 project between the door and the rear wheel arch. I want to leave the trim off and fill in the holes. On the doors it was easy as I put fibreglass filler on a piece of metal strip and bonded it to the inside of the door , then filled the holes with fibreglass filler for strength, then stopper.
However as I now have a roll cage in the car I can't remove the interior panel to get to the back of the panel and go through the same procedure. Welding is not an option.
Have any of you chaps or lady chaps got any ideas?

Hi Mr Haynes, I've put the car away for tonight, but I'll try and post a picture tomorrow. I've just tried pushing some fibreglass filler into the hole for now and seeing how much sticks to the inside.

One option would be a can of expanding foam as a space filler, you can then fill the hole with a decent amount of epoxy/filler with it staying in place.
@Parm is good at expanding foam and can show you how its done

Bit of cardboard with some string knotted through it.

Push it through the hole and pull it back with the string while you fill.

No idea if it will work on bodywork but that method had come in handy a few times and gives enough support to get filler in to set.
