Filler rod selection packs

Yet more stupid questions from me
I have brought a ac/dc tig now and I came with a gold tungsten and no filler rods now is there anywhere you can buy starter packs of filler rods and tungstens
Also can you buy a torch shield/collet starter packs

Hi there.

Might be worth finding a local welding equip supplier and do a face to face with them. Tell them what you want ie. a bit of a starter kit to get you going.
Most filler rods come in-- Al-2.5kg packs and S/S- 5kg packs.
They may break or have broken packs and give you a kg of each.
Same goes with the tig torch consumables. Bring the torch into them.
Its worth their while to look after you now as you will be back.

It's not worth buying tungstens in oddments. Ceriated or lanthanated will weld AC and DC. find which suits you then buy them. Our welding supplier will let you have a sample to try and sell small amounts of rods for one off jobs if I ask nicely.
