File undelete programs

I have just accidentally deleted my business accounts from a flash drive at home. I have a backup copy at work but need to some accounting at home. Google told me to use Easus but they want £70 to restore the file.
Can anyone recommend a free way of doing the restore as it seems a lot for 1 file. There are lots of other free programs but I am wary of all the dodgy stuff out there locking up my PC.

Dont think so. Its on a USB that I use in the computer at work then bring home to do the books at the end of the week.
I just tried Glary utilities and it restored the file but it's corrupted somehow. I will just wait until I am back at work on Monday. Cheers.

Had good success with piriform recuva .... spelling maybe a little off, works scarily well

I believe there will be a hidden folder of your flash drive, unless you’ve formatted it?

Recycle never used to apply to external drives
If formatted with FAT not NTFS the MSdos undelete works
All delete does is remove the first character of the file name

Cloud storage would be worth considering.
Keep meaning to sort google drive out myself for work files.

I've used the piriform recuva for jpeg files and it's worked fine.

You could try a program called testdisk, I have used it ion my linux machine to recover windows files but I have never tried it on a flash drive.. Its free.

I've used the same when mrs Robo accidentally deleted the SD card in her camera, it got about 95% back complete and the remainder as partials.

recuva has always done ok for me, google how to use it as there are advanced settings.

Not sure if this is relevant but it might help someone.

Recuva is good but when I lost everything because the bios corrupted on a laptop so it wouldn't even boot, I just stuck a Linux disc in the DVD slot and all the files where still there and could be transferred to an external HDD, job done.
