No fiberglass doesn't really bond to steel.thanks for the advice all^^
started cutting off the old/damaged fibreglass earlier and realised it's just a curved galv steel roofstick with matting over it fibreglassed to the roof - same as in GRP box body truck roofs, I thought the whole roofstick was fibreglass here....
the fibreglass either side of the stick to roof join peeled away fairly easily....guessing from the pressure of it moving but looks like the galv roofstick had never bonded to the fibreglass roof or the matting over it, holding it up to the roof
does fibreglass usually bong to galvanised steel? maybe came apart over time with the heat on the roof?
think I'll glue the ends of the roofstick to the roof first - then fibreglass over the top to make it look original/spread the weight
I'd seperate the two, either a gasket, or pu40, and nuts bolts and washers in A2 stainless.
