Fibreglass painting

I have a LDV convoy and a VW LT35 campervan both with the white fibreglass roofs. The roofs both have black ingrained blotches on them that wont wash out so the only alternative is to paint. What I would like to know is what is the best paint and procedure for this job. Because of the access, doing the job is going to be a nightmare, so I was hoping that a roller might be possible, but am unsure what paints you can roller. All advice appreciated.

Have you tried compounding the blotches out ?

No. I do not know how thick/thin the layers of fibreglass are and would rather not take any material off.

Used to paint boat hulls with International marine enamel using rollers, even the paint pads worked very well.

A touch more expensive type of paint but would certainly give a longer life than the cheaper stuff.

should be gel coat and a mild sand with 1200 /1500 then polish shouldnt hurt it

if you want to roller it the vw camper guys do thier tops with rustoleum combi thinned with white spirit

Many thanks for your suggestions chaps. I was thinking of an enamel but wanted to know if it sits well on fibreglass.
