Well I wasn't home, hence the bloomin fibre down the wall, and a termination box at the 500mm level outside - just right to catch the handlebar of my granddaughters bike. Cost £110 for us to fix, and the "fixer" never put the lid back on the box right. So we come back from hols to find a storm had removed the cover and the postman had walked through the fibres blowing in the wind...Cheers for the replies all ,

When I had the original phone line put in the BT dude wasn't allowed to go in the loft cos it wasn't borded at the time. so I drilled the hole in the gable end and ran the wire thru the loft for him .
The walls are about 18 " thick stone / brick / rubble , so of course his drill bit wasn't long enough !
I'll just have to make sure I'm home when they do come to do it
Defiantly won't be going underground , we don't have a street as such , just houses dotted randomly served from a few wooden telegraph poles .
I'll stick some Flexi conduit in should be on for large radius bends then .
