ferrimaxx 7 Connections

Right having read all the informed comments on the forum and bearting in mind I have an Air Products dealer 5 mins from the house I am now in possession of a huge bottle of Ferrimaxx 7. It comes fitted with a single stage regulator and a push fit fitting labelled 18L/mn that is far too large to fit the small pipe on my Clarke 151TE.

So first question, what adaptor do i need?

Second question what do I do about the flow rate in terms of regualtors?

Keith, the 18lpm is a fair bit high for your use imo. a 12lpm would be better, saving you a substantial amount of gas. Might even get away with less, if your only planning on doing light work. Nothing to stop you having 2 couplings to choose from.

The connectors use a 3/8" bsp fitting, the same as a standard regulator, what you want is a hosetail, to fit in your pipe.
What size is the pipe on your welder? Inside diameter?

Weldequip, should be able to sort you out a hose tail, not sure if he does the integra couplings...drop him a PM

Wow. Lots of help here- thanks!

Recieved a hose tail from Weldequip this morning (only ordered it yesterday afternoon) but, I have not got a 3/8 bsp fitting to fix to the AP quick release fitting.

Believe it or not my local AP supplier only had L/H thread fittings and no standard 8/8 bsp fittings, but I am off to Millhill tools in Didcot now as they are a BOC dealer and might have a suitable fitting and will pop into my AP dealer on the way to see if he will exchange the 18 L/m fitting for a smaller one!

- Well I've just been along to my AP dealer who tell me they only supply the bottles not the fittings! One good thing was they sent me along to a Hydraulics/pressure lines dealer in Didcot I did not know about who gave me an adaptor for a quid, and it also means I now have a supplier for all my Hydraulic lines and bits for all my bikes/sidecar within walking distance of my house!

machine mart do fittings for connecting air lines to regulator/filters etc. that can be used to make hose tails up.
