Female threaded inserts???

Hi guys, I need to find some, ideally stainless, threaded inserts which would be the exact opposite of all-thread / studding, so a small tube with a thread down the inside.

I need them to be 40mm long to weld into some 40mm shs, but obviously could cut some down. M12 or bigger.

Any ideas??? All I can find is brass ones, furniture fittings and tube end inserts.

Any pointers much appreciated. Al.

Would a threaded bar connector be any good? might have to turn off the hex if it has to be round. link

you can get SS riv-nuts. There is also a kind of insert called a nut-sert; not sure if they are available in SS though.

You can get sockets that cast in to concrete for stairs etc...
Try giving precision profiles a ring, usually pretty good about fixings....

Or how about the long nuts used to join studding..... As they are welded in... length, must be about 40 at a guess....
