feeling stupid - aldi paint confusion

You used to be able to go on Aldi's website, choose what day, find the DIY / tools date, and then go into store.

Now it seems that there's 'diy' stuff online all the time? But not what im after....


Im looking for some of that hammerite look-a-like spray paint.


So, what do i do? Keep checking the dates, and wait for a 'diy' day, or keep checking the mail order diy bit - how does it work now?

I have noticed the spray paints tend to come into the shop (ours at least) at random, without notification and definitely not always as a special buy.

Sometimes it's there and sometimes it's not, so a bit hit and miss really.

It used to be that id go past the physical store often, but life has changed, so now its a trip in itself - 40 mins each way.

Might be better (cheaper) to just mail order some hammerite at 3x the price!

The straight to metal aerosols just come into stock randomly. I haven't seen them as frequently in recent months though. The tinned version seems to appear more regularly, but the aerosols are harder to find. I stock up when they come in stock. Lidl sell the same thing so they may be worth a go. If I see them in store I'll post it up as it's a really good product.

I brought a can of brush on a few weeks ago opened the truck door at my mates and the tin crashed down and I lost the lot on his block paving

I am passing Aldi tomorrow, don't mind looking in and getting some for you if you want, delivery by Hermes would be around the £3 mark for a package of 4 cans for example, up to you if it's worth it with the postage.

Edit: Just checked and they have paint on their prohibited items for parcels but not sure if that's tins (which can open) or aerosols..which may be ok, you would need to check.

Are they [officially ] allowed to consign aerosol products to the mail system, or are they on the list of things [like guns ] that you can't post?

Aldi and Lidil stores will get worse before they get better.
Blame Brixit.
They now have to start to complying, or start to get ready to comply with British Standards.
Before they were complying to EU/German regulations.
Now it will be BS/EU, then BS.

This basically means, as they look at each store, the store plan and product stowage it will be a mess. They will improve, but it will be hit and miss.

Some of there stores had better safe wine and spirit stores than inflammable/tore. It was a joke.

They plan to return to the "Old" way soon as possible.

Upshot is, lots of end of line products will be coming up and a On line store, a click and collect store and a price increase.

Hi, I'm not sure. They're EU based companies selling EU sourced and compliant products which the UK honours. Their shops operate on UK soil so have to comply with UK regulations. I can't see that changing unless we stop recognising or honouring the EU product standards.

They seem to have the black / silver / white on fairly regular intervals, but haven't seen the green for over 12 months now.
