feeling low and down

well in the last 5 weeks been down and lethargic. this week going the weathers decent and have been getting up earlier and doing stuff for the last 3 days and feel better for it and have more energy. went and looked at someone's wiring to garage today that had blown up .they have had the drive concreted the cable is some twin and earth buried in it without covering or protection concrete shrinks when hardened and has crushed the cable and its blown up . job for tomorrow renew it with armoured .gets me out of the house for half a day and will have to get up earlier

Just got to keep busy.

I may be boring people with my renovation posts, but it keeps me sane(ish).

If I didn't have projects and work to do, sat on the sofa watching tv, the wife and kids would be buried in the garden and the police looking for me.

Seriously.

Daughters bored pooless.

Sons watching videos, you tube and tv.

Wife's reading books on her phone...

Today third day in Six weeks I've done nothing, well except drinking beer...

True dat. Languishing always makes me feel grotty.

I'm torn between being pleased that I'm still working full time and miffed that everyone else has all this time to get projects finished and I don't! Either way, I couldn't sit still.

The rest of my family have been busy doing gardening and DIY. The lawn has been mowed so often you could play billiards on it. One outside wall has been painted, border dug, plants planted they even moved my gooseberry bush into a sunny corner. Now they are attacking the bathroom with new paint, flooring and this weekend I have to fit new taps.

Today my job has officially changed, now I’m gonna be on the phone, email and Skype much much much longer every day

Started back to work this week with caution and making plans for next week too as i don't need to meet or interact with people so perfect...not big earning jobs but for right now mental health is far more important than money

I have been working through, (I,m no way a key worker) servicing machinery whilst its not being used and breakdowns and PM for the 15% that is running, and am annoyed I'm not at home in the sun! Had loads of stuff lined up with most of the gear to do it and, other than easter, not done anything! I have had two holidays booked which have been cancelled, so I'll probably have to wait until then.

I recon people who have worked through will be identified because they dont have a suntan!

For me there’s defiantly one good thing come from all this, I’ve picked up a scraper for the first time in I don’t know how long, my arms feel like they are going to fall off but I feel happy inside.

I'm out of work on furlough but I've never been busier.
i do feel strange though as if the isolation is sending me a little nutty.
I'm usually ok with being on my own but 4 weeks in now i suppose will have an effect.
what i am getting more annoyed with is th number of ordered being delivered that are wrong and having to go through the pantomime of returns procedure.
never had that problem going to a store so i can identify i it as i receive it.
on the plus side I've been allowed to keep some of the miss sent items

keep your chin up though peeps, at least we've got the forum

Get yourself into a routine!

I try & get up around 8am

Breakfast around 9am

Maybe do some exercise, If not have a shower

Then I crack on with jobs that need doing

Tidying up makes a massive difference I've noticed for my motivation

Clear work area, Clear mind

beavering away in the workshop and garden at the mo, going to make a start on sorting out the lathe for paint and give the workshop a tidy out,
got a mates forward control ambulance here to do some wiring upgrades on for lighting etc which should also keep me busy for a while and plenty of jobs to do on my own landrover.
trying to keep the mind busy as i dont need another breakdown,

I had the floor up in the walk in cupboard doing the wiring it was like a tip got all the boards down and got rid of most of the crap in there and had a bondy and burnt a load of stuff wifey said we can get carpet in there do decorating and god knows what . I said just hold it there . that's all im doing for now . don't think your on a roll cos its not going to happen il do stuff when I feel like it

Being penned up with four others is hard. I’m making silly little jobs last way longer than they should, spent hours this last two days wiring in three extra lights in the back of my sons connect. Also fitted a beacon which should of been an hours job, took me most of the morning.

@Migmac don't know about you, But taking longer on a job sometimes seems more enjoyable. I hate rushing jobs & prefer to take my time to do a better one!

that's a shame in 47 years ive never been short of work and turn loads down ive done 4 jobs all small in the last 4 weeks or there about. to be honest dunno what day or month it is
