feel a bike coming on

come to standstiil on sis's quad as she lost interest in it, so was looking for something to do.
then today neighbours me load of old motorbike bits.
forks swingarms damaged frame seat and couple of other bits.
wheel is from oricinal chop i was building before bits were nicked of drive.
going to make set of big handlebars for it and thinking of using front forks with small type bmx wheel.

got little bit yesterday.
widened swing arms to take wheel im going to use, and got headtube cut from frame.
had to slit tubing in couple of places to bend out enough to accept wheel then weld slits up, followed by bending tabs back in.

got bit more done am having wide crank on it so don't need to extra cogs in run chain.
will be putting footrests between crank and swingarm using 1/2" tubing, with spare cogs welded on to rest feet on.
welding not pretty but is strong, the little man is getting better at his welding.

Very interesting, what's that wheel off, are the spokes going into the outside edge of the rim.

think it came from suzuki swift.
spokes are going to outside of rim, when finished building will be stripped for painting and have chrome spokes with red nipples on end.

got some more done put bend in down tube and bend in top pce using slit and weld method.
gotto cut length when i decide where u-pce is going for over wheel to put seat on.

welding on upper tube not as good as should be was trying to sort out cheap little no gas mig mate as bought, revolting thing it is.

how long are your forks that's a hell of a rake?

39" from bottom of headstock to floor, but haven't decided on straight or curved forks.

they are some wardrobe rails i used to see how wheel looks.
gotto get some tubing right size end of month then work out how to keep springs as want to keep suspension on front

The forks are a "bit" too long for telescopic suspension to work properly. You will get quite a lot of spring though as they bend. My first chop had 8" overs and it was amazing how much they used to bend, with a rigid back end it used skip round corners a speed something like leading link suspension would work better but it'd be getting a bit complicated for a push iron.
