NoLooks like a woodruff key.
Hrrrrr. I felt it was old school mechanical design. File, it means file.I have seen a key like that on a Diedesheim machine, but that was years ago, but it was big, about 80mm x 20mm.
If it is a standard key, it is not common.
this is a special design for the sliding shaft in the quill. Feather key sit at the right depth (the step is a limiter), without scratching the bottom of the slot and transmitting torque to the drill. The side edges of the feather key are worn out, that's right. It is a feather key. But very worn.
