Faulty TIG machine, still has power and MMA works.

Hello everyone

Sherman 210. About 4 years old.

I was changing the torch and button I’m not sure if I had cut and joined the two wires up incorrectly while changing button... It worked for a few seconds then died. The machine still powers up fine. Stick welding works fine. All controls and dials work fine. Does not work with foot pedal either. You should hear the HFU buzz if short the two pins for example with screwdriver for the TIG lead. No noise as mentioned the TIG function is completely broken.

Polish manufacturer. I’ve already tried contacting them but no reply. Overall it was a good machine I didn’t have any bother with it for 4 years. I just want to see if I can get it running again I don’t really want to buy another AC/DC machine.

I’m not an electrical engineer but I am capable of using a multimeter and soldering iron !!

Not much to go on. Have a good close look at the PCBs in there, then clean the dust off them, and have another look.

If you don't have the manual, there's a Polish version here
It shows the block diagram on page 12 so you should be able to identify the boards that do/don't work.
Then look for damaged components.

Edit, just noticed that's a slightly different welder but I think the block are the same see blurry 210
