Fancy a new welder not sure which one

Hi everyone,

I am thinking about getting a bigger mig welder, at the moment I have a small machine which works fine but as I am doing more welding. I need bigger.

I have seen some SWP Mig 170 Turbo for about £380 including torch and reg.

But I am wondering is it what I need and is it any good ? It seems to have some mix opinion on it based on the reading.

I would not fancy buy another one in 1-2 years to be honest. I want a well build machine which does what I want.

So I do only classic car restoration really, when I build bigger stuff I use the arc welder.
I do nothing professionally it is just for me.

So if you have any idea and pointer on what I should go for, I am listening.

Well i had the red line 210 for 12 months and for the money it was excellent, wire feed was very strong, gave no trouble under high end frequent use.then i upgraded my Mig and bought a redline 280 amp machine.i really liked this machine for the money. Search swp redline 210 and also swp 280 i had threads posted.

Hello fellow irish man.

I did a bit of research and I am thinking to go maybe for a portamig 185, as it has a fairly low amps and as my welding skill is not the best I always think the amps are too high and I am too slow on moving the torch.

Would that maybe a overkill ?

I am wondering is there other welder out there which will be getting 15 amp output by any chance?
