How do you measure the length of a fan belt, is it OD, ID, centre line or what.

It is generally the centre line ish.

When you measure your belt it may be stretched, its always worth noting how much movement you have in any tensioners in case you need to get a size smaller to bigger.

OK guys I think I've got It, the reason I asked was I've have a few to fit on spurious bits of machinery that have not got the old belt for a comparison, and thanks for the info guys.
