Fake power tool batteries

Seen this on the PowerToolMate Exclusive Deals group on Facebook. Apparently it was on charge before it started to smoke. Luckily he was able to remove to outside before it burst into flames.
I only use genuine batteries and hate to imagine what damage could be done to my garage and tools where they get charged.

regadless of who made em.....my batt's r only charged when I'm around....
plus never leave the batt and or tools in the sun.....

Perchance was watching this before work this morning. Worth a watch!

Note - genu whine batteries even years old out performed the new aftermarket batteries by quite a margin. Also some batteries were shorted out to test protection..... interesting results.

That was shocking just for the performance or lack of from the knock offs

For the Makita 18v people, 2 x 5.0ah batteries still come up on offer on ebay for as little as £105, often cheaper with a 15% offer than a 20% offer, you have to search "5ah" and "5.0ah" to find the cheapest. I'm sure it's similar for the other major brands.

fake arent worth the bother if you use them every day for a living .i only bought one as it was 14 quid cheaper after been recomended by a joiner that they were good 4 month later it wont fully recharge ive got a 6 amp hour dewalt battery used regular for along with others over 6 years old and still good . false economy buying cheapos

At the top of the page it is. Scroll down the page a bit and it says '1 pcs'. On that basis alone, the seller is to be avoided, whatever the item they are selling.
