extracting heat??

how can i get out the heat from my welder?

as it cuts out and annoys me to wait 20 mins to reset?

What brand/model is it? Does it have a cooling fan? Has the case ever been removed to clean out the assorted crap that accumulates over time?

So does it have a cooling fan? If not adding one will be the first step but realistically if it's a little 100A jobby being used flat out all the time you need a bigger welder

i may cut some mesh in the side for air and clean off any surface rust..on metal plates

Buy a decent welder with a duty cycle of a least 60% @ 180 amps

If it's regularly overheating in use then it isn't big enough....simple as that.
