bet he wishes he paid more to get his engine fully balanced before he got it on the dyno I got my stockcar engine fully rebuilt and tuned they cranked it up and I was crapping myself thought the pistons were gonna go through the head or the crank and rods out of the bottom . was working at cummins diesel doing a job and they were doing a massive engine out of a dragline and stuck it on test that was well worth listening to and watching big massive 12 cylinder

Some years ago now, there was a programme about Cosworth. They showed them testing the new race engines on the dyno 8000 rpm, 9000, 10000, big bang, lots of smoke 0rpm! That one knackered, best get another one. I suppose testing to destruction is the only way to know the potential, but it looked pretty brutal.

that's what rolls Royce did. test engines to destruction then beef up the parts that failed
