My angle grinder - cheap one, Erbauer - runs until I orient it with the disc underneath it, when it stops. It's mains powered. I've had a brief look inside and there doesn't seem to be anything loose.
Any ideas anyone?
Have you tested the mains cable witha meter, sounds like a break in the cable. My angle grinder - cheap one, Erbauer - runs until I orient it with the disc underneath it, when it stops. It's mains powered. I've had a brief look inside and there doesn't seem to be anything loose.

At MIS I have found they do go soft, but the cable or switch is very weak.or a bad spring on the brushes .
If you choose to pop the switch out. They are simialr to a B&D unit. You will need a fine blade to release the cables. Thanks all for the suggestions. Cable break at the clamp it was. Normal service now resumed. I couldn't reach the cable terminals inside the grinder - they were hidden under the switch mechanism. Solder and heat shrink did the job.
