I recently found a link to a product named Spatter Shield. Sounds interesting. Has anyone some sort of experience with it? Any info regarding the costs?

I came across it a few years ago in my previous job, did what it says on the tin, spatter does not stick to tips / shrouds. Used to install it on robotic welding systems to improve "up" time of equipment. I don't think it would be cost effective for the hobby welder as one bottle is designed to last for about 200 "arc on" hours. I know the owner of the company and he certainly knows his business.

Ohh, a one-bottle lifetime supply.
You're right, that doesn't sound cost effective for me. On the other hand, being cost effective is not exactly my strongest point and there are not that many ways to pimp a mig and have an actual improvement.
