Experiences of silicone eater??

I fitted a new shower 12 months ago. The silicone has lifted off the tray but stuck to the ally.
I want to get it off without scratching the ally or the tray.
Anyone have anything good to say about silicone eater stuff.
Will it damage the ally or its anodising (if it is)
Does it evaporate or how to get it off to get the new silicone on?
And the silicone has gone yellow, it was clear!

Works as the pot suggests in my experience. Cut/scrape as much off as possible and leave product on to soften to remove the rest. Repeat if needed. Or whatever it says on the pot.

Not had it affect aluminium or shower trays.

i found WD40 removes silicone na bother.

It won't hurt the surfaces but you do need to scrape/cut as much as possible first or you will be applying and messing with it forever.
I've used the No Nonsense one from Screwfix.

X Pro Super Solver was recommended to me a while ago and I used when redoing the Kitchen and Bathroom silicone and worked a treat. Pull out as much as possible then spray and rub down with a microfibre cloth and it’s ready for new silicone

If it's lifted off the tray maybe you need to weight the tray down before redoing as maybe there is a tiny bit of movement in it. Also make sure you clean the surface well, I use meths.

Laid on my back having to used two tubes of bathroom silicone sealant it wasn't long before I'd rolled over on a big dollop that has slithered out the humongous glob I'd used to try and rectify a " Professional's " leaking workmanship . When I'd kind of stopped the waste leaking for a day or so I tried to scrape the silicone off my mole skin jeans . Very little came of so I resorted to a silicone remover jelly it worked exceedingly well till I ran out of jelly . After hand washing using a scrubbing brush very little of it remained .

I also used it to clean up bits on the sinks half pedestal cover and the hand bowl underside . .

My thought is don't worry if it takes several applications and only use a soft cloth to get it off polished aluminium , Other wise Scotch Brite green pad should suffice . Do read and follow the instructions for use .

Scotch brite will scratch and dull the plastic.
