Expensive nipples

Thought that'd get your attention

Got a bit of steel plumbing to do and was going to use some barrel nipples from BES (12" by 1" BSP):

But they're £5.42 each inc VAT

Called the local steelworks and the equivalent tubing is £20 for 7.6m, enough to make 25 of them at 80p each. I think BES must make a good markup on these.

So I'll thread my own (got a die kit for tapers up to 1 1/4" which works well enough with some muscle).

Trouble is how far do you take it, I could weld my own tees but it all adds to the time to build the project.

if you can buy the tee's then i would, save on time to buy rather than make

if theyre too expensive though, make them up and have some fun doing it

Fancy seeing you here, it's been a long time! Not seen you on VOD for a while, you still running a veg burner?

I've still got the Delica, though it's looking a bit more battered these days.

You're right, I'm building another biodiesel processor - a big one this time!

I'm upping my batch size from 125 litres to 375 litres complete with all the usual bells and whistles, including Methanol recovery, though this time I'm having a crack at building a flash evaporator for it too.
