Evolution Rage4 Chop Saw

Just picked one of these up from machine-mart, bargain section only £66 inc vat.

Feels really solid, small and compact.
Can't wait to try it out, I'm really really hopeless with the hacksaw.

sorry for late reply guys and gals !!

Used it last night, fantastic piece of kit.
So much cleaner, nowhere near the amount of mess that a grinding disk creates.

## still have to wear eye protection though ##

How noisy is it?

I've got a huge Makita abrasive cutter. It's not only noisy, dirty, and sparky, but it keeps blowing the fuse in my garage when I start it up. Would like something quieter. Been looking at bandsaws but they're £200+.

I've cut up to 42mm free cutting bar stock with it. It does spark, but not a huge amount, and the chip collection gets progressively worse with the size of the bar cut, my garage still gets a liberal spread on each use.

Thanks MBConfuse! Sounds like a good product, compared to the abrasive cutter that I've got.
However I'm looking for something more quiet, that's my primary concern. The reason is simply that I want to be able to cut inside my garage and I don't want it to be generating too much dust. The abrasive cutter can probably be heard 3 blocks away, probably 100 people can hear it. Not very neighbour friendly. Not to mention the fuse blowing. Used my Ryobi reciprocating saw yesterday to cut some stuff instead of the abrasive cutter. If the Ryobi would be ideal if it would be in a mitre.

Either way, I'm diverting from the topic. Thanks for your replies. Seems like a very good bang-for-the-buck machine, but not for me. Thanks!!
