Euro torch differences?

Basic question really. Haven't found answer in my searches.
Have a torch on an old cebora and have removed torch to attach newer torch. Newer torch doesn't seem to screw up as tight as original, should it go up tight to seal and connect?

I'll take photo's tonight.

On some euroconnectors as long as the locking ring is tight they're OK even if the longer body part still moves a bit
