Hello!
I'm finally looking for a tig welder and have decided (almost) to go with Esab Rogue Tig 180i. These don't seem to have been discussed in much detail in here, other than the fact, that the cheaper stuff is fabriqué en Chine.
Any feedback on this machine?
Last week I finished my tig course and teacher said, that it's a safe bet to go with Esab, as their internals are somewhat protected from grinding dust with some sort of cooling solution, where the electronics are not directly exposed to the dust, thus ensuring welder does not have to be as protected, as cheaper alternatives. This is a big selling point for me, as my workshop is rather small and I cannot have a dedicated grinding place away from all the tools.
Anyone knows if this is true?
Only other option which I'm considering is the Sherman ac/dc machine (the one which was discussed in high detail in this forum). I'd love to get ac capability, but my current mindset is that I better go with known brand and lower my expectations about functionalities, than to buy something that's all inclusive but of lower quality.
Plus, I really like Esab and Kemppi torches, whereas the one included with Sherman looks like a toy, meaning I'll still end up in Esab price category after upgrade.
Cheers
