I've not used the esab, but used the lorch micortig quite a bit.
The lorch is one of the best tig and stick units ever made, in my eyes. Super efficient on electric, very easy to set up, the HF is very powerful, it's a very smooth arc, its drop rated, its multi voltage... I could go on and on.
Not many people ever have a use for 1000hz upwards.
Oh and its made in Germany, and people know how to repair them when they go wrong. Not so sure you could say that about the esab, its chinese and historically esab haven't been great at service support.

The esab renegade was a good machine when i worked there 5 years back. When they first came out, they were DC only, and made in Poland or CZ.
But esab machines can be plagued by problems just out of warranty. I've seen it happen dozens of times.
I've got two lorch units approaching 8/9 years old, zero faults.
