Hi there,
I just bought a used ESAB Origo C200 mig welder. It's only like 3 years old and normally ESAB is well respected.
We had a bit of a problem at the seller's home testing the welder because he got a shock when touching the ground clamp and the machine didn't do much. I immediately thought the wall plug wasn't grounded and that seemed to be the case. Different wall plug and all was well.
Now I've been testing and have come to this nasty conclusion. It seems to work fine on all power settings (12) except for setting 4. The wire runs, gas flows but no power. After twiddling with it, suddenly setting 6 went out too. I nudged the switch and turned it a few times and 6 was up again. 4 stays out.
Aside from that it seems to weld fine, going up to setting 7 the machine "hums" a bit more but it doesn't behave strange. The arc hisses nicely.
This leads me to believe the selector switch might be broken? Or could it be worse?
