erbauer cutting discs

avoid these at all costs, they are lethal.

bought my new grinder today, but upon opening it the side handle and spanner were missing so after replacing it screwfix compensated me with 5 free 1mm erbauer cutting discs. Put one in to test the grinder on some 5mm flat bar and 4 out of the 5 discs broke up while cutting. Haven't put the last one in as in too scared so its gone in the scrap bucket

grinder on the other hand is brilliant. Didn't know they made ones that didn't vibrate at all

BB Did the grinder have an o'ring mounted in to the disc hub (where the disc locates onto)? Reason I ask is that the MAC grinders I got a while back had "vibration reduction" which all I could see of was the o'ring that the disc sits on and find that the thin disc don't always sit 100% flat when the nut is wound on. I usually just lightly nip nut up with fingers then pull disc round about 1/2 turn to seat then nip a bit more with fingers and let the friction tighten the nut. Sure I have had the Erbauer discs and nit had a problem so far.

yeah grinder has the rung to seat the disc, all discs were flat and cut well untill they shattered.

ive never had a problem with other thin discs. And wasn't even making them work hard, just letting the weight of the grinder do it for me.

Maybe unlucky and had dodgy batch?

Were they out of date? Possibly why they were happy to give them away, because they couldnt sell them

I always using Blue Spot discs , never had a problem. What grinder did you get ?

I just got one of those on offer from screfix for £30, but it didn't come with any discs!

i only had the disc as the side handle was missing on the grinder. I took it back and while they were finding me a new one they gave me the discs as an appology. I am first name terms with everyone that works there, even the managers so I think they thought it a good idea to keep me happy lol mind you i have never found fault with their service and have even heard people come in to collect items that haven't arrived on time and been given a £10 voucher for the inconvenience.
