My ER32 chuck used to be spot on - less than 1 thou of runout.
Went to drill some holes earlier and I could see there was noticeable wobble. I chucked up a 14mm long shank milling cutter and measured with a DTI - 5 thou runout. I tried a few collets and still the same. Took the chuck out - reseated it - cleaned everything - still the same.
It is NOT my Bridgeport thankfully - using R8 and less than half a thou - phew!
Any ideas what could have caused this? It hasn't had much use and never been dropped - babied in fact.
