i got 3 boxes of rather prices hilti ones a while back and they never had this on? 14mmx about 400mm from memory.. good idear thou!

That's unusual , the Hilt ones are normally chisel tipped with hex end (to turn them when using capsules). Did you have the super posh ones with the coarse thread at the hole end ?

If you read the blurb on more than one stud manufacturers website, they specifically mention the flats are to stop rotation.

Also to mix the resin by rotating the stud if you're using the pre filled sausages instead of cartridge gun with a mixer tube.

You need a brush tothe size of the hole that you drill,

Blow out, scrub with the brush, blow out again scrub with the brush and blow out again before putting in the resin,

And wear goggles when blowing out the hole. It seems wherever i stand that dust goes straight on my face

And other incredible tips, use a toothbrush or bottle brush to give the holes a thorough clean. Save the dust, when you have finished filing with resin, level it off and add the aforementioned dust to the palm of your hand. Blow dust on to rapidly curing resin.
