Epoxy on alloy wheels

Ive read a few posts where people paint various car parts/components in expoxy primer and dont apply a top coat as its supposed to be pretty hardwearing.
Was just wondering if i could paint alloy wheels using only an epoxy primer and what sort of life might i get out of such a paint job?
Found a few places that sell the expoxy primer in black so im thinking i might be able to use that without the need for a black top coat.
Possibly could a top coat of clear for extra protection.

Any advice/opinions appreciated

Epoxy primer will do a splendid protection job but will go chalky in UV. You need to topcoat it, I would go for 2K black satin. Even an aerosol would do.

for the cost of a bit of satin black 2k , no reason not to dust them over with a top coat

Ahh i see. Thats useful to know.

I don't have the proper mask/airfed setup to spray 2k hence looking for the next best alternative.
Probably just use a solvent top coat and clear

Spray the epoxy primer first then add whatever finish your are comfortable with.

and do so before its cured so that the topcoat sticks well
