Even if the person does not himself know what the machine is, a photograph of it might assist others to identify the manufacturer and thus to identify the collets. How many different engraving machines does lathes.co.uk list? Does his machine resemble any of them?

Is the machine metric or imperial (fasteners, component sizes, scales)? That would narrow down a European-built machine.
