engine mount repair

I've just purchased a little bargain with a little issue. the engine mount has failed, bolts snapped or something and the mount has been rubbing on the camshaft pulley, its gouged a nice chunk out of the mount, so i was wondering if i get the right wire and gas could it be migged or does it have to be tig welded? think its aluminium cast, hopefully get a pic when weather lets me remove the damn thing

It can be repaired with a mig welder but mig welding aluminium isn't particularly easy.
What machine do you have?

ebay the mount to see how much they are or try a breakers, IMO much easier than mig'ing ally

i got sip cosmo 170 not the best thing in the world, gonna ave a look round the scrappies but tbh its not cracked so not too concerned about replacing, just wanted it to look better than it does now

If its only visual you are concerned about and no concern on strength the plastic metal stuff is ok, quite strong and can be filed back into shape and even polished, have seen some great repairs accomplished on motorcyle barrel fins.

If it is affecting the strength then obviously not suitable at all

That would be a perfect fix for a spoolgun loaded with 4043 aluminum mig wire. Too bad i am not closer i would fix it for ya...Bob
