For work vans I've worked for decades on 30mph = 1 Hour (this was for estimating Engineer travelling hours to/from a field job on predominantly rural roads). It worked out pretty accurate (You gained a bit on m-way sections and lost a bit on country lanes).
So 1000 hrs equates to 30,000 miles. You'd see the odd genset engine or big industrial engine get to 30,000 Hours, but half that might be more typical.
When you think an open road use car does maybe 7,000 hours to hit 150k miles - its an indicator of how much "beefier" the tractor & industrial engines are..... BUT note that tractors used very hard for Contracting work might be clapped out before 10,000 hours - so like all things a lot depends on how hard they get been worked and how well maintained.
