Since boyhood , I have been using good old British 'Multicore' solder. I recently bought some solder made in China, having heard that it was OK. Well, applying it on to a strip of Veroboard, it goes down nicely, but then as it solidifies, it changes from being bright and silvery to being dull grey. Attached is a pic, and on the bottom copper strip (between P and T) one blob of Chinese and one blob of Multicore solder.
