Electroless Nickel Plating Options

I am after plating some rollers (40mm ø × 250mm long) for a winch fairlead.

Struggling to get a gauge on if it's cheaper to buy a plating kit from Casswell (~£200), or to send out for plating.

As far as I can tell the only local service is CBE+ who looks far too big to be interested in giving a sensible price for a small job (no judgement they have big overheads to cover, and those will spread much worse over 4 parts than 4000).

All the other suppliers look similar, can anyone recommend a Electroless Nickel plater that will happily deal with small batches at a sensible price?

Or should I just get a kit and do it myself?

Many years ago, I used to use some wonderful electroless solution called Nifoss made by Cannings chemicals in Derby. Sadly, they got bought out by an American company who then substituted their own product range. You might search for plating solution companies in Derby.

I'd at least ring up your local supplier - at the worst they say no, at the best they might just do it for you.

I've taken small bits and pieces into places for a price - more than one has taken my parts and told me to come back in a couple of days.

Oh yeah, the city has electroplating companies for days...

Almost none offering (or at least advertising) the Electroless Nickel process though.
