Electric scooter problem

Daughter partner has a pure air go scooter

It has a h2 error

It's I think down to the break lever that has a magnetic hall sencer

This is the sencer in the lever unit and there is a magnet in the lever


It random come up with the fault at any point in time

The lever is 30 ish quid to replace so I need to make sure its that as hall sencers are only a few penny's on line (not sure what on I need to be honest


As only marking are on pic s49eh and 256 that's it

Any electronic people's on here like to point me in the right direction please

You could try,

Put a multimeter on the red and black wires set it to dc voltage then wave a bigger spanner over the top of the sensor and look for voltage change as you do it.

If no change do the same on blue and black. (Depending on how it's wired as red or blue could be either input or output) if no change either way try bringing a magnet instead of a spanner. If still nothing then the chip Is likely dead

are all chips the same ? size etc ?as if there only £2 quid for 10 be easyer to just swap it out that i dont mind to chance but £30 on a chance is a bit more out the way

as to power it means connecting to the scooter and moving and then measure going to be fun

That hall effect isn't much on ebay. Can you solder?

You shouldn't need to be moving, just turned on. Somewhere between 3 and 6 volts should be going into the chip on either the blue or red wire and somewhere between 1 and 6 volts on the opposite wire to the input. blue if inputs red, red if inputs blue. You measure between either and black wire.

There will always be a supply going to the sensor when the machine is on.

In terms of chips you need an s49e, often called ss49e but the do come in different sizes.

The output voltage should change as you bring a magnet close to the sensor

It's probably TO-92 package size. If so should be about 4mm wide
