I want to tidy up wiring on my vivariums.
At moment am running 2 heat mats of 1 stat and am using double ext lead on each set up 9 in total.
What I'm thinking of doing is getting a strip of female comp sockets and fitting into box on bottom then fitting some male sockets on top.
Will connect 2 females at bottom to 1male at top

Stats will plug into top and mats bottom.

Will this work and what's correct name for them pls?

Not 100% sure what you mean. Does "comp" mean the 3 pin computer type plugs & sockets?

A plug is the male component with exposed pins, the socket is the female component.

On no account arrange it so that the plugs are live, the sockets must always carry the live supply (you can't touch the connectors) and the plugs always connect to the load.

Yes computer sockets.
Place I used to work used same leads on hopper loaders sparky bought in some male and female plugs to make extension leads up.
I'm after a strip containing females on bottom of box where power will be coming out of.

Being all female won't be able to touch live terminals.
On top of box will socket like on comp psu to take normal comp lead.
Then on heat mats will fit plugs to go into females in jct box

You mean iec conectors mate. E careful they are rated high enough for your current draw as am sure they come in different flavours.

For some reason thought they were euro plugs and could only find travel adaptors
