elcheapo makita battery, won't charge. dead. deceased. ex.

I had two batteries so when one didn't charge I just left the thing.
It's an elcheapo bought 4 years ago so it's not completly unexpected.

I just opened it up, intending on individually charging the cells.
One of the wires to the cells has snapped! I measured the voltage, it showed
14.xx volts, which must be the voltage to the balance bit a cell down from the
end.

I soldered it back and it's just finished charging. I
would write the dum de dum bit the charger has just made, but I am tone deaf.

Re-attach the wire and give it a go, Also,one of my pattern Milwaukee batteries would no take charge and charger indicated the battery was faulty, zero volts, so it was dead flat, internet suggested flashing the 18v battery with a 9v PP3 battery for a minute or so, Actually worked a treat an is working completely as normal now,, Good old Google,
