Has anyone had any experience of suppliers / sources of decent, reliable diagnostic software for the above please?

Happy to invest in it, but don’t want to spend a grand on EDITH. Looking at the aftermarket ones online but they seem a bit too cheap?

Just after something to read and reset any fault codes as part of routine services. Especially the lock out when it’s done too many false starts.

I don't think there is any aftermarket diag kit that'll work with the newer CAN heaters.

Thanks. That’s all I really needed to know. I’m used to boat ones and they’re fairly stand alone.

The truck ones are all built in and are a nuisance. Even dealer level diag like DAVIE or the Scania one (name I forget!) doesn’t seem to really talk to them.

On the VW vans/campers with the heaters as original equipment VCDS will talk to them, but I don't think they have got that much to say! I know you can 'unlock' them if they have been run low on fuel, get some live data and get fault codes and I think add remote controls if they have one. No good for non-VW general use of course.
