Ebay Oil Cooled Pickhill Bantam...

Hi folks,

I was looking through eBay when I noticed the following Oil Cooler arc welder for sale...

If you notice that there is a cover missing from the power input on the top of the machine, it is possible to get a cover for this? I think it would be highly dangerous to sell it in that state.

yup dangerous cos its the main input , should be quite easy to make a cover though, with a hammer and a vice

the cover is on the mains lead, he's just taken it off to show the connections

Not like a friend of mine then. I said to him blimey you need your eyes testing, do you still go down the pub and come home with the ugly ones. to which he replies I dont have to go down the pub anymore to come home with the ugly one, and then looked at his girlfriend. Lucky enough she isnt the sharpest tool in the box and didnt get what he ment

Just wanted to say how shocked I am of Pickhill have stopped making welders.

When I moved to North Yorks 8 years ago I went to theses people about a job working on large generators and I got to see inside the area they built welders. Very neat and tidy.

I have a railway background and was familiar with their machines. At the time, they said they still had a market cornered and sold a few. I suppose they are just too expensive to build now, but it seems like a bit of a reflection on the demise of british heavy industry.

there is a battery charger connection on them as well but don't ever use it because that's what f*****up mine

them bantams are machines they are meant for work. i ran mine from 8 in the morning all day burning 4mm constant till 8 in the evening, put it charging a battery through the night, then back welding the next day again. the booster on them is something else will knock farts out of any engine.
