I had one of my cars up for sale and this chap turns up late for starters then tried to bid me down after clicking buy it now

Drives me mental when his scruff of a mate tells me the head gasket is gone

Undoes the oil cap with no Mayo and no fuel in the rad to smell

I said that’s the rocker cover leaking not the head gasket

Drives me mental that so many people “think” they know about cars

Think ive told it here before. I was selling a fabia VRS and the Asian Arthur Dailey turned up to have a look. Let him drive with me as a passenger and he was reeling off issue after issue after issue that “needed fixing and are serious”

Asked him to pull over and let me drive back, and when he did I told him he best be walking back as the car was clearly too dangerous for him to be in. Suddenly changed his tune and the drive back was very quiet. Got home and told him to f*** off and scam someone else. Cannot be doing with clowns like that

I worked for a guy that did some thing very similar

Still makes me laugh to think about the blokes face

A friend of mine listed a car, bloke agreed to buy it if it was as described. They met half halfway, any issues were highlighted and bloke said he wasn't concerned as he was mechanic/trader. Deal was done, chap paid and even transfered the log book online there and then. Next morning messages to say the engine is knackered, was clearly looking to get some money back. Fortunately my mate held strong and pointed out that he had inspected it and was a mechanic, few days passed and he never heard any more.

I suspect it was more that they assumed you didn't know and could hoodwink you.
