ebay/budget concrete breakers /kango

anyone got a cheapie concrete breaker

i see the screwfix ones at £150 have good reviews , ebay has them for around £90 so a decent saving

just wondered if its worth the extra for the screwfix or go with ebay , doubt it will get more than few hours use but prefer to buy rather than rent and have to rush about

My neighbor has the ebay copy of the Screwfix machine. He uses and abuses it for all sorts. If your just a DIY'er I think it will do you good for many projects.

Like you I'd much rather buy instead of hire.

Don't think you can go much wrong. With screwfix you have the added reassurance that you can take it back if it goes wrong

My guess would be, for the small job or very occasional use you'd be OK with the cheaper version.

We have an Erbauer branded that cost £40ish on offer at makro probably 8 years ago and has stood up to some serious abuse and still going strong. A local plant hire place was hiring out Titan branded ones and reckons he'd never had one issue with them either. I'm guessing the brand is pretty irrelevant and their all coming from the same Chinese factory but maybe wrong.

I have some erbauer kit and its good value Imo. It's not Dewalt or kango quality but it's not Dewalt or kango money either. Stuff I don't use much I don't bother with top brands, it's a lot of money sat there. I like having it available whenever I want and only need to use it a few times for it to pay for itself. If you get your moneys worth out of it before the warranty runs out you're laughing!

titin noes are good got the large braker and drill myself done losts of jobs with it

cant fault it apart from they are heavy units but if not using it all day its great

i had a cheap one from b&q about 10 years ago.
it demolished about 4 houses broke out 10 1m x 1m x 1m holes in solid concrete in one job alone plus massive amounts of other things. it was going strong until it was stolen along with everything else last may.
i have just replaced it with a screw fix titan as they are the same as my old one. I'm my opinion go for a screw fix one as they are slightly different to the cheeper eBay jobs and you can take it back if it lets out the smoke

buy it local if it goes faulty take it back and replace it

i bought 2 drills for this and had 4 in total as halfway they became faulty so had to return them in 2 days of use

I bought one and works fine. AFAIK the failings most people suffer is due to not keeping the oil reservoir topped up.

i got the smaller titan that is an sds hammer drill as well,knocked through 6 inches of pretty serious concrete no bother,in fact,most of my tools are titan now
