I figgured m10 must be a typo
4 1/2, 7 and 9 inch ones are but 4 inch ones are a smaller thread.I thought grinders were M14? Or is that 9" ones?
My battery grinder has soft start and a clutch so this looks a good option
if its an old property there will be notches , just have to get creative

The house I grew up in was 350 years old, all joists & beams were oak. My father was trying to notch joists for cables & ended up using a lump hammer & cold chisel as it was so hard. He tried to screw into an oak beam to fix something & failed miserably, he ended up drilling & tapping it 1/4 Whitworth.
should have bought a good quality auger then instead of some cheap soft rubbish tat that's on the market. now green oak is a different kettle of fishI guess it also depends on what sort of 150 year old wood it is. If it's oak then you could be in for some fun. When the plumber fitted the central heating in my brothers house they gave up drilling pretty quick as they were ruining an auger bit on every other hole.
