I noted a notification on my phone, just as I was about to set off to go give someone a hand with something, so didn't have chance to look on Ebay. I'm sure they must've timed that one intentionally.

Start with £1 ex VAT
Add 20% vat = 20p so total =£1.20
Now deduct 20% from £1.20 = 24p total = 96p

It is due to you also deducting 20% of the 20% VAT

Still a good discount, Not sure who takes the hit on the 20% though. My thoughts are eBay, As I don't think many sellers would want to offer a 20% discount.

I know that my previous purchases show full price in my purchase history, But my PayPal transactions show the 20% off price

Well the bed I bought didn't go down well with 'indoors. "I wanted one with knobs" So if they refund it, I lose that 20% I thought I had saved!

Nobody's going to ask........ But you're no worse off by not saving the 20%, it becomes a notional saving then - I can understand how you might feel cheated, though .
