Easy Christmas Recipes

Thought I'd start a thread on tasty easy recipes to jazz up Christmas lunch, post some if you have some easy tasty favourites. Not sure if these are really recipes as they are very basic.

Fancy custard:
1l normal custard.
300ml of cream
1/2 Tin of carnation milk.

Stir together and warm on stove. It's always a winner, especially if folk don't know what is in it and how simple it is.

Ice cream:
600ml double cream
3/4 can condensed milk. 1/2 if you don't want it sweet and a can if you have a sweet tooth.
Table spoon of vanilla essence.

Mix all together and whisk until it's clotted. Freeze overnight.

Always a hit with children, banana milkshake.

2 bananas
2 scoops of ice cream
1 pint of milk

peel the bananas and break into pieces, put in a blender with the other ingredients and whisk.

My Guinness recipe takes some beating.

Take one pint glass and two tins of Guinness. Fill the pint glass with the first can. Open the second can to fill it up. Drink enough from the glass to make room for the rest of the second can. Retire to living room to drink a full pint of Guinness.

Just about done my starter: Langoustines, handed in alive from local fisherman who I had done a favour - boil for 4 minutes in salt water and white wine, let cool and shell, serve cold with smoked salmon handed in by my partners son who works at a local fishfarm, just some lemon mayo and wee bit salad - delicious

5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake


4 Table flour

4 Table sugar

2 Table cocoa

1 egg

3 Table milk

3 Table oil

3 Table chocolate chips (optional)

And/or

3Tbl of fudge chips

1 large coffee mug


Add dry ingredients to mug and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.


Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.


Add the chocolate chips and/or fudge chips.


Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.


The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!


Allow to cool a little and tip out onto a plate if desired.


EAT! (This can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).


And why this is the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake any time of the day or night!


This is a fun one to watch baking! It looks like it will rise forever. Great one to make with kids!

Thick rasher of bacon well fried

Lay in baguette

A layer of beans

A slice of cheese

Back in oven for 5 mins until cheese melts and oozes out

Devour

Germolene for burnt areas of fingers after removing cheese and layer of skin.

This years tipple, get a bottle of vodka and a bag of werthers originals. A week before you want to drink take the lid of the bottle pour yourself a good shot (you need a bit of space in the bottle) unwrap the werthers and drop in the bottle. Give the bottle a shake, repeat from time to time during the week until the they've all dissolved then drink. Merry kissmyass

Brandy in coffee with brandy cream is nice, stops it getting watered down with the cream
